ATRO would like to thank you for visiting our website. Our therapeutic riding program is heavily dependent upon our volunteers and donations. The benefits received by our participants is difficult to quantify, while the costs of producing the results is easily identified, boarding fees, veterinary care, farrier, supplements or special feed for some of the horses, safety equipment, lesson plans, and insurance , to name a few. Our program expenses continue year round, even when class is not in session.
As a non profit, ATRO is heavily dependent upon the donations made to our program, whether through direct donation or support of the fund raising efforts made throughout the year. Several categories of donation are explored below. We thank you for assisting our growing program through your donations.
Donations can be made by check or via our Paypal account. Checks can be made payable to ATRO.
ATRO is a 501 (c)3 charity and donations are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
- Direct Donation
- Sponsor a Rider
- Sponsor a Horse
- Donate a Horse
Direct donations are utilized in the general operating expenses of running the program and may be directed towards specific areas as indicated by the donor. Examples of this include sponsorship of a particular horse or rider or directed to a specific program such as the Veteran’s program or the Women’s program. Direct donations are accepted in any amount.
Upon occasion, there are applicants to the program who cannot afford the session fee of $30/class with the usual session being 6 weeks in duration. A donation of $180 would allow ATRO to accept a rider who cannot pay this fee. Sponsorships can be directed towards an individual rider or made to the scholarship fund, which can be used as needed for a specific student or allow us to keep the overall cost to all riders at a minimum. ATRO has not raised rider fees in over 10 years and our goal is to keep the cost of the program to the rider at a minimum.
ATRO’s horses are all boarded and therefore have a monthly boarding fee to maintain them as well as additional costs for farrier and medical bills. ATRO’s herd is aging and will need ongoing support to continue to keep them happy and healthy. You can sponsor a horse for $250/month. You may specify a specific horse or make a donation to the herd. ATROs horses thank you for supporting their care.
